Easy Blondies

HOW TO MAKE BLONDIES

Blondies, often described as vanilla brownies, are a delightful dessert treat. They are rich, chewy, and filled with butterscotch flavors from the brown sugar and butter. Here is my go-to recipe that you can easily follow at home:

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup (2 sticks) of unsalted butter
  • 2 cups of light brown sugar, packed
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tablespoon of pure vanilla extract
  • 2 cups of all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon of baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon of baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon of salt
  • 1 cup of chocolate chips (optional)
  • 1/2 cup of chopped nuts (optional)

Directions:

  1. Preheat the Oven and Prepare the Baking Pan: Start by preheating your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13 inch baking pan and line it with parchment paper, allowing some overhang on the sides for easy removal.
  2. Melt Butter and Sugar: In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Once melted, remove from heat and stir in the brown sugar until well combined.
  3. Cool the Butter-Sugar Mixture: Allow the butter and sugar mixture to cool slightly. This is to ensure that the eggs won’t cook when added to the warm mixture.
  4. Add the Eggs and Vanilla: Once the mixture has cooled, beat in the eggs, one at a time, ensuring each egg is fully incorporated before adding the next. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  5. Combine Dry Ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  6. Combine Wet and Dry Ingredients: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter-sugar mixture, stirring just until combined. The batter will be thick.
  7. Add Mix-ins: If desired, stir in the chocolate chips and nuts.
  8. Bake the Blondies: Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan, spreading it out evenly. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out mostly clean.
  9. Cool and Cut: Allow the blondies to cool completely in the pan set on a wire rack. Once cooled, use the parchment paper overhang to lift the blondies out of the pan. Cut into squares and serve.

Enjoy these heavenly blondies as a delicious treat for dessert, or whenever you fancy a little sweet indulgence. The result is a perfect balance of a soft, chewy center with slightly crispy edges. A sure hit for the whole family!
